SPAF 68

ThinTech Coatings SPAF 68 is a self-polishing, tin-free antifouling coating based on a specially developed mixture of polymers, pigmented with a combination of bio-based additives. The surface is self-abrasive through a carefully adjusted balance of hydrophobic and hydrophilic binders. This mechanism enables controlled leaching and allows easy recoating after service life. SPAF 68 is a long-life, self-polishing antifouling coating designed for vessels operating at slow to medium speeds that require extended docking intervals. It is suitable for new vessel construction and for upgrading existing long-life systems in the coastal marine industry, with a controlled erosion rate engineered to deliver highly effective, long-life protection against marine fouling. Its self-polishing nature also results in a smoother hull surface, reducing overall hull roughness and improving fuel consumption.
